JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client in the healthcare sector needs a Procurement Officer in the healthcare sector he or she would be responsible for managing the procurement process to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services essential for healthcare operations. Key responsibilities include:

Sourcing and Supplier Management:

  • Identify and evaluate suppliers for medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, and supplies. Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms.

Compliance and Regulations:

  • Ensure procurement activities adhere to healthcare industry regulations and compliance standards. Stay updated on industry-specific procurement guidelines.

Budget Management:

  • Collaborate with finance teams to develop and manage procurement budgets. Monitor spending to ensure adherence to financial constraints.

Inventory Control:

  • Oversee inventory levels of medical supplies to prevent shortages and excess stock. Implement efficient inventory control practices.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with healthcare professionals and department heads to understand procurement needs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with organizational goals.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks. Develop contingency plans for potential disruptions in the supply chain.

Tender Processes:

  • Develop and manage tender processes for healthcare supplies and services. Evaluate proposals and make recommendations based on cost, quality, and compliance.

Record-Keeping and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities. Ensure compliance with documentation requirements and record retention policies.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that procured goods and services meet quality and safety standards. Implement quality assurance processes in the procurement cycle.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings. Stay informed about advancements in healthcare procurement practices.

JOB REQUIREMENT

  • Any relevant qualification in business administration, supply management, finance or any related field previous experience as a procurement officer in the health sector Familiarity with procurement processes, vendor management, and contract negotiation. Adherence to ethical standards and integrity in procurement practices.
